Generation Taragalte consists of six musicians born and raised in the Sahara desert sand. Their repertoire is inspired by traditional Saharian songs, sung in Hassania and Tamasheq. The artists like working with new influences that mark the evolution of Sahara music. This genre is also known as Desert Blues, combining traditional instruments with Western ones in a uniquely rhythmic manner.
Together with several other musicians, Generation Taragalte forms the Cultural Caravan for Peace. This working network is the embodiment of a vision promoting cultural diversity, peace, tolerance and social cohesion among the peoples of the Sahel and Sahara.
