Ghanaian highlife artist Ata Kak has a mysterious story of his own. Ever since his 1994 tape ‘Obaa Sima’ got picked up by ethnomusicologist Brian Shimkovitz in 2002 and reissued in 2015, Ata Kak has been the best possible outcome of a 13-year-long search. Expect a cross-over between international modes like rap, techno, and saccharine melodies and contemporary Ghanaian music.
